Services & Fees

Clear services. Transparent fees.

You shouldn’t have to get in touch just to find out what an ordinary consultation costs. Where the work depends on how many documents there are or how complex things are, prices start from a stated figure and the full fee is agreed before I begin.

Talking it through

Free 15-Minute Fit Call

Free15 minutes

Not sure whether I am the right person to help? Book a free 15-minute fit call. Tell me briefly what’s happening and I’ll let you know whether one of my services is likely to be useful, which one, or whether another professional would be better placed to help.

Please note: the free call is for checking which service suits you, rather than detailed SEND advice.

The SEND Surgery Start here

£9560 minutes  |  Online

One problem. One focused hour. Clear next steps.

The signature service. A 60-minute specialist consultation for parents who need help making sense of a SEND situation. Bring me the problem. We’ll work out what matters and what needs to happen next.

You leave with

  • clearer priorities
  • practical next steps
  • useful questions to ask
  • a better understanding of the situation
  • a plan

Suitable for

  • Autism
  • ADHD
  • SpLD
  • Complex SEND
  • EHCP questions
  • Provision
  • Reasonable adjustments
  • Interventions
  • SENCO meetings
  • Mental health and wellbeing
  • Attendance
  • GCSEs
  • Post-16
  • DLA/PIP evidence
  • EHC Needs Assessment
  • Professional reports
  • Knowing what to do next

The SEND Surgery includes a brief look at one or two key documents if you send them in advance. Where there are several reports or a large amount to read, the Document Clarity Review or Assessment & Report Review is the right service, so that the reading time is properly covered.

Follow-up Consultation

£5030 minutes  |  Existing clients

A shorter session for families I have already worked with. It isn’t available as a first appointment.

  • Reviewing progress
  • Discussing a school’s response
  • Checking recommendations
  • Preparing for a meeting
  • Responding to a new development
  • Confirming next steps

Complex SEND Case Consultation

By requestBespoke quote

Some situations involve multiple needs, extensive evidence or several agencies, and need more time than a standard consultation. Complex case consultations are available by request, with the scope and fee agreed in advance.

Because the practice is deliberately small, I take on complex work selectively, so that I only accept cases I can give proper time to.

Situations might include

  • multiple overlapping needs
  • complex health and education needs
  • many professional reports
  • significant attendance difficulties
  • placement concerns
  • complex EHCP issues
  • several agencies involved
  • significant mental health or wellbeing concerns
  • complicated transitions
Documents and reports

An experienced educational eye on the paperwork

These services include reading time before we meet, then a consultation to go through what I found.

EHCP / Document Clarity Review

from £145Review plus consultation

What the paperwork means, what matters and which questions you may need to ask.

Suitable for

  • a current EHCP
  • a school support plan or SEN support plan
  • a professional report
  • a provision plan
  • other key SEND documentation

Includes

  • review of the agreed key document(s)
  • strengths, and gaps or unclear areas
  • practical educational interpretation
  • questions to consider
  • discussion of priorities
  • a consultation to talk through the findings

“From £145” covers a defined document review. Where there are extensive reports or a large evidence bundle, I will agree the scope and price with you before I start. This is educational SEND consultancy and does not constitute legal advice.

Assessment & Report Review

from £150Review plus consultation

Already have reports but don’t know what they mean for school? This service translates professional findings into practical educational implications. It reviews assessments that other professionals have already completed. It is not an assessment of your child.

Reports might include

  • Educational Psychology reports
  • autism assessments
  • ADHD assessments
  • speech and language therapy (SaLT) reports
  • occupational therapy (OT) reports
  • SpLD or dyslexia reports
  • school assessment information

I help you understand

  • what the findings mean educationally
  • what the recommendations actually mean
  • what provision might follow
  • which reasonable adjustments might be appropriate
  • what school may need to consider
  • where recommendations connect or conflict
  • whether important questions remain unanswered

Larger bundles, or several reports, may cost more. The fee is agreed before I begin.

Annual Review Preparation

from £175Review, consultation and notes

For parents approaching an EHCP annual review who want to go in clear about what has changed, what is working and what needs to be raised.

  • Review of agreed key documents
  • Consultation
  • Identifying priorities
  • Current needs
  • Outcomes
  • Provision
  • Questions to raise
  • Preparation notes and parent priorities

Meeting attendance is not included. Where there is a very large evidence bundle, I will quote separately.

EHC Needs Assessment / Multi-Agency Preparation

from £175Review, consultation and notes

Suitable if you are

  • considering requesting an EHC Needs Assessment
  • gathering evidence
  • responding to requests for information
  • preparing for a multi-agency meeting
  • trying to organise professional evidence
  • trying to explain why existing support may not be enough

Includes

  • review of agreed evidence
  • identifying priorities
  • identifying educational impact
  • suggested questions
  • consultation
  • preparation notes

Educational preparation and evidence support, not legal representation. I can’t guarantee the outcome of a request for assessment.

Specialist assessment

Assessment I carry out myself

Specialist Learning Profile

from £295Assessment and written report

An educational and psychometric assessment carried out by me, within my current professional scope. It builds a clear picture of how your child learns, where the difficulties lie and what should help in school.

The assessments I choose depend on the question we are trying to answer. Not every test is used for every child.

Includes

  • assessment
  • scoring and interpretation
  • a written summary or report
  • educational recommendations

Areas may include

  • literacy
  • attainment
  • working memory
  • processing
  • patterns of strength and difficulty
  • educational implications
  • reasonable adjustments
  • recommendations

A Specialist Learning Profile is not a diagnostic dyslexia assessment and does not provide a formal diagnosis of dyslexia. It is also different from the Assessment & Report Review, which looks at assessments other professionals have already done.

Access Arrangements Assessment

By enquiry

I hold CPT3A and am on the BPS Register of Qualifications in Test Use (Test User: Educational), and I have extensive experience of access arrangements from inside schools.

Exam access arrangements depend on appropriate evidence, on the school or exam centre and on the current examination regulations. Buying an assessment does not automatically secure arrangements. Please get in touch first so we can check this is the right route.

Diagnostic Dyslexia Assessment Coming soon

Full diagnostic dyslexia assessment will be available following completion of my Assessment Practising Certificate. I am not taking bookings for this yet.

Bespoke GCSE Revision Planning for Neurodivergent Learners

Making revision possible, structured and manageable

For students with ADHD, autism, SpLD, anxiety or executive-functioning difficulties who know they should revise but can’t organise it on their own. This is revision planning, not tutoring. More about GCSE revision planning.

GCSE Revision Strategy Session

£9560 minutes  |  Online

A consultation with the parent and young person to identify the barriers, the priorities and the revision approach most likely to work.

Bespoke GCSE Revision Plan

from £145Written revision package

A revision system built around the student’s subjects, exam boards, gaps, attendance history, confidence and SEND profile.

  • Priority subjects and topics
  • Personalised weekly structure
  • Subject trackers
  • Executive-functioning supports
  • Clear next actions

More extensive multi-subject plans are quoted individually, depending on scope. Follow-up reviews are available to existing clients at £50 for 30 minutes. Ongoing weekly tutoring is not offered.

Other ways I can help

DLA / PIP: evidence and functional impact

Most families use The SEND Surgery to organise educational evidence and find clear examples of everyday functional impact. If you need a substantial set of documents reviewing, the document review fees apply. This is evidence-organisation support, not welfare-rights, legal or financial advice. More about DLA/PIP support.

Meeting attendance

Meeting attendance may occasionally be available by prior agreement and subject to availability, for example a SENCO meeting, annual review or multi-agency meeting. Where offered, the guide rate is £110 per hour, with substantial preparation or document review charged separately. I don’t provide routine representation or advocacy.

Good to know

  • Consultations are online.
  • Fees for review and assessment work are confirmed in writing before I start.
  • Appointments are released in selected evenings, weekends and school holidays.
  • There is no emergency service, no unlimited email contact and no open-ended case management.
  • I don’t contact or chase your child’s school unless we have agreed that as part of the work.
  • General tutoring isn’t offered. GCSE revision planning builds a revision system rather than teaching subjects.
  • Reduced-fee appointments are available through Community Access.
Not sure where to start?

You don’t need to know exactly what service you need.

If you’re unsure where to start, The SEND Surgery is designed for exactly that. Bring the problem. We’ll identify what matters, what needs clarifying and what your next steps could be.

£95  |  60 minutes  |  Online

The SEND Practice is intentionally small, and appointments are released in selected evenings, weekends and school holidays.
